A well-prepared CV is not a guarantee of success, but a bad one can ruin this success. Learn the golden rules that will allow you to write a good CV in Norway. Thus, you will increase your chances on the local job market!

Curriculum vitae in Norway

Curriculum vitae in Norway it is rarely read in full and can be rejected by the recruiter after just a few seconds. This can happen when it is too broad, vague, or unprofessional. This means that it is worth spending some time creating something that will interest a potential employer.

Staff Opplysninger (Personal data):

Name and surname, address, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address, marital status and number of children (this can be an advantage when applying for the position of e.g. kindergarten teacher), photo.

Nøkkelkvalifikasjoner (Key qualifications):

Resume summary, i.e. a short description of skills and experience (the most clear is bullet phrases).

Work experience (Experience) :

Date of commencement and completion of work, company name, city, position. It is worth pointing out all the duties we performed, because often the name of the position itself is too general and does not say much to the recruiter.
Experience We arrange our professional careers chronologically from the last job, which we were doing until one o'clock.

Education (Education) :

School start and end date, school name, city, profile. As a rule, we do not include information about primary school, because education is compulsory in both Poland and Norway, which means that everyone studied at this level.
We also arrange the data on education chronologically, starting from the school with the most recent graduation first.

If you have your diploma recognized, it should also be included in your CV.

courses

Date (this is important due to punctuality some courses), the place of the course and its name.

Certificates (Certificates) :

Date of obtaining the qualifications (important, for example, in the case of a driving license when applying for the position of a professional driver), place, categories.

fritidsinteresser/ Hobby (Free time):

It is worth entering, especially if you are applying for a position related to our passion.

Languages (Tongue):

When entering the knowledge of languages, it is also worth mentioning the level of their knowledge. It happens that we do not speak a given language yet, but we are in the course of the course, then it is worth entering information about participation in the language course.

References (Reference):

Former employer name, job title, company name and telephone number. It is important to determine in advance whether a given person will provide us with references.

If we have written references, a document can be attached to the CV. However, if we do not want to provide this information in the CV, we can enter: Oppgis på forespørselwhich means that we will address it at the recruiter's request.

Most often created curriculum vitae in Norway fits on two A4 pages. If there is little information, we can expand it. However, if we have a lot of professional experience, many courses, etc., as a result of which we need a few sheets to cover it all, it is worth distinguishing what is most suited to the position we are applying for.

We save the file in doc or PDF format.

A well-written CV is a testimony of our professional approach to the issues of applying for the position and an expression of respect for the potential employer.
