Strict EU requirements

The EU wants to impose strict requirements on car manufacturers selling their vehicles in Norway, but not only there. If they are not met, manufacturers risk very heavy penalties to be imposed on them.

Co2 emissions

Everyone nowadays wants to reduce CO2 emissions. The European Union therefore intends to check the average carbon dioxide emissions. If the result is greater than 95 grams / km then very heavy fines will be imposed on car manufacturers. The penalties are so high that the Union does not worry, because each producer will be anxious to meet all the conditions of the program. It is said that from 2019 the penalty for each gram exceeded will be 95 Euro. The best example is the Volkswagen brand, which in 2017 sold as many as 3,6 million vehicles in Europe alone. Let's say that each car exceeded the limit by 1 gram, then the fine is $ 342 million.

The goal is to sell more low-emission cars

Experts dealing with the electric car market estimate that in 2030 cars with an electric motor will constitute as much as 66 percent of vehicles sold. The European Union has unofficially defined the direction of development of the car industry with its rigorous program. This is a big plus for Norway, because this country has the highest percentage of electric car sales. The question is what other European countries have to say.
