We miss our families. The pandemic is still ongoing. Many of us are planning a trip to Poland to see our loved ones and deal with important matters. We present the most important information about crossing Polish borders. What do we need to be prepared for?

Updated information on quarantine in Poland:

WHAT ARE THE RULES OF THE QUARANTINE IN POLAND? According to the regulations from June 24.06:
A person coming from the Schengen area (including Norway) may be released from quarantine in Poland by undergoing a test 48 hours before or after crossing the Polish border (the date of the result counts).
If a traveler from the Schengen area does not make the test or is not subject to another exception - he must undergo a 10-day quarantine.

A person arriving from outside Schengen (Great Britain) is subject to a 10-day entry quarantine, with the possibility of shortening it to 7 days after a negative test performed in Poland.

The following travelers are also exempt from quarantine (regardless of where they come from, selected exceptions):

Healers - up to 6 months after the end of isolation.

Children up to 12 years of age, traveling with vaccinated parents.

Foreign students studying in Poland and Polish students studying abroad.

Students studying in Poland and their guardians who cross the border to enable students to learn.

Covid 19. Quarantine after crossing the Polish borders.

From March 30 this year, the principle of quarantine after crossing the Polish border has been in force. Quarantine must be carried out for 10 days. You can be released from it if you present a certificate of a negative test result for coronavirus infection, made no earlier than 48 hours before entering Poland. The certificate must be written in Polish or English. Border guards include a PCR or antigen test.

Automatic release from quarantine - who does it apply to?

There are cases where the traveler may be released from the quarantine obligation from the so-called "Vending machine". To whom this privilege applies:

  • professional drivers and employees handling goods and passenger traffic,
  • persons crossing the border for professional or business reasons, however, as a rule, this does not apply to entry by air,
  • people vaccinated against COVID-19 who have a certificate confirming vaccination with a vaccine approved in the EU,
  • children up to 12 years of age traveling in the company of an adult with a negative coronavirus test result up to 48 hours before entry or in the company of an adult who has full immunity after vaccination,
  • people who have a certificate of completion of hospitalization or isolation due to coronavirus infection within the last 6 months.

A list of all exceptions can be found in the Polish Journal of Laws at this link.

Sanitary rules in Poland related to the Covid 19 pandemic - what must we remember?

Covid 19 - The pandemic continues. Each country has its own precautionary and hygienic regulations in public places. The following rules apply in the territory of the Republic of Poland:

  • wearing masks indoors and on public transport. Children under 5 years of age are exempt from the obligation. People alone traveling by car or professional drivers who do not have direct contact with passengers. It is recommended to wear a medical mask,
  • the minimum distance between people in public places is 1,5 m. With the exception of guardians of children or dependent persons,
  • people living with an infected person in one household are quarantined - up to 7 days after the end of the isolation period,
  • shops, banks and gas stations may only be entered with gloves on or with a hand sanitizer provided by the facility.

Let's remember! It is worth checking the applicable rules before crossing the borders of each country ...

To sum up. Regardless of whether we are going to Poland or another country - it is worth checking the applicable rules for entry and the stay itself. This will protect us from the unpleasantness at the border, the mandate, and above all, it will allow us to take better care of our common good.
