Numerous road accidents in recent days in Norway are a consequence of a very slippery road surface. Rainfall and freezing temperatures do not work to the advantage of drivers. The police warn you to exercise extreme caution.

The number of reported accidents in the last two days is terrifying. On Thursday morning, meteorologists and the Norwegian police warned drivers to exercise extreme caution and adjust the speed of the vehicle to the prevailing road conditions. In the eastern part of the country, there are a lot of reports concerning information about new accidents. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute today issued a danger alert in the south of Troms, Buskerud, Oslo, Akarshus, Oppland and Hedmark.

On the E18 road in Slitu in Østfold There was an accident in which two cars drove off the road and into a ditch. Automatically after this incident, two rescuers from the emergency services road crews were sent to check the condition of the road. As a result of salt works, district road No. 120 between Kløfta and Jessheim and the E16 east of Kløft had to be closed for a while. Several drivers also lost control of the vehicle on this stretch and ended up in the ditch, including a truck driver.

December is the month of collisions 

Numerous accidents that occurred in December resulted in this month becoming the month of collisions. According to the data passenger cars in Norway, collided in December until 180 00 timesand the cost of Norwegian insurance companies was NOK 3,2 billion. This result shows that 10,3% all Norwegian accidents that occurred in 2018 are those of December. Let us remind you that this month is not over yet.
