Electric car sales increase
Norwegians can boast of purchasing quite a lot of electric cars. In recent years, this type of vehicle has become very popular in this country. By the way, last year every third Norwegian had an electric car in their home. In 2018 after Norwegian roads as many as 200 fully electric cars were in use. No nation buys this type of vehicle as often as Norway.
Nissan Leaf is the most common purchase
The car that last year was the most purchased electric car in the world is the Nissan Leaf. Ultimately, all over Europe, in 2018 Nissan sold 40 units of this model. Of the total number of models sold, 699 were purchased in Norway. It is actually this number of copies sold that made the Nissan Leaf the best-selling car model in Norway. This result allowed Nissan to overtake the Volkswagen Golf.

Swedes are buying more cars
Norway is a European country with very few car sales. However, this did not prevent the Norwegians from buying 30% of the entire Nissan Leaf range. Swedes buy many more cars, but Leaf sales did not exceed 1831 units. This result is only 5% of total sales.
Why are Norwegians so eager to buy electric cars?
Electric cars have become quite popular in recent years. Nevertheless, still, in most countries, not everyone can afford such a purchase. Why, then, the Norwegians make decisions about buying this type of vehicle so often? The big advantage is the exemption from VAT, as well as other charges. Otherwise, the prices of these vehicles would be much higher.

Volkswagen plans
Taking into account the Norwegian market and 2018, the Volkswagen brand has some plans for this country. Seeing that the Norwegians are very eager to buy electric cars and analyzing the Nissan Leaf sales, they want to launch a number of electric vehicles on this market. This move could make a difference on Norwegian roads.
