A 54-year-old man was accused of murdering his ex-wife, whose body was found a year ago in April in Notodden. The accused was charged with several charges, as a result of which he faces 21 years' imprisonment.

A 54-year-old man committed the heinous act of murdering his ex-wife, whose body was found a year ago, in April in Notodden. The deceased woman is 38-year-old Houda Lamsaouri. The police found the victim on April 9 in her apartment where her 1,5-year-old daughter was in the other room. As a result of the quick action of the officers, the man was arrested the next day. Since then, he has been in custody and awaiting the case.

The charges against them
The man was charged with murder, but it was not the only one he heard because, among other things, the police proved that he had forgotten documents. As a result of the accusations heard, the attacker is threatening up to 21 years in prison.

Accused of violence
The man has in the past been accused by his ex-wife of using violence against her. The incident took place in the spring of 2016, when the victim moved away from her husband and moved to a shelter in Harstad. She spent only a few months in this place and it was there that she gave birth to her daughter. In December 2016, the woman took the child with her and moved to Notodden, where she was later killed.
The man pleads not guilty
The accused 54-year-old man does not admit to the murder of his ex-wife, and his defense attorney Cecile Nakstad also does not comment on the matter. As reported by NRK, the perpetrator in the past in several interviews admitted to being in Notodden while finding the victim's body. Additionally, he also reported that he had visited his ex-wife and daughter.
