Dangerous rescue operation of the ship "Viking Sky". The reason was a failure of the engine. The ship was drifting on the west coast of Norway. About 397 out of 1373 people were evacuated. The situation was dramatic.

How did it come about?

The action must have started very quickly as the ship was in danger of being pushed onto the rocky coast by the waves. Unfortunately, the rescue operation was slow - the passengers had to be evacuated one by one using five helicopters. Help was called in by the crew because of the voltage issues that were getting worse by the minute. The engine refused to cooperate in Hustadsvik Bay. It is the section between the cities of Alesund and Trondheim. The rescue operation was very difficult - strong wind hindered all actions.
