Can you imagine today's world without the Internet? We do not. The Internet has already taken over practically all spheres of our lives. We use it at work, in contacts with loved ones, for entertainment purposes. The biggest giants compete in providing new and better solutions for Internet users. Good news for the residents of the Norwegian Trondheim - they will be able to use the mega-fast 5G Internet in autumn. This positive news was shared and saw the light of day at a special Technoport conference held in the district capital of Trøndelag.

How did it start?

In spring 2018, the 5G network was tested for the first time - in Kongsberg. However, the test was of a pilot nature, non-commercial. Trondheim is the first city, where 5G will be available. Next year on a large scale. It is worth noting that 5G is aimed primarily at mobile phone users - only these devices are able to use the advantages of 5G. This Internet is very capacious and fast. It must be properly matched to the chosen one mobile device. Of course, what still needs to be agreed is the supply of this type of network and the price for its use.

When will mobile telephony change?

“We are starting preparations now, and within a year Trondheim will become our Norwegian home test arena for 5G mobile Internet. Together with Ericsson, we are now equipping 50 base stations. We will be ready this year - excerpt from the conversation from Nettavisen with Anders Krokan, director of communications at Telenor.

“Early launch and experimentation with 5G is important for Norwegian industrial development and competitiveness (…). 5G will bring speed, precision, efficiency and flexibility, which in turn can lead to positive outcomes changes in industries important to Norway, i.e. in the maritime economy, health care, energy sector and transport.” – emphasizes Sigve Brekke, CEO of Telenor.

The introduction of the 5G network may be in Norway step by step a milestone in the approach to mobility. These changes open up new paths of development in many sectors of the economy, in the business zone.
