Most of us cannot imagine life without social media and popular messengers. Yesterday there was a real "cataclysm" on the web. On July 3, popular websites such as Facebook and Instagram failed. The problem also concerned Messenger and WhatsApp. There were problems with uploading photos and publishing videos - both on the so-called "Boards", as well as in private conversations. The photo did not open or the recipient got a number of stamps. What was the cause of the failure?

The cause is already known

Internet users were unable to use all functions of popular social media for approximately 12 hours. At 1:49 Polish time it is official Facebook account informed about the defect removal. Of course, the company also officially apologized for all the inconvenience to users who could not fully use the application during the failure. The problem actually affected the entire world. Information about the failure came from Europe, South America, Japan and United States. The cause of the problems? Virus activated during maintenance work.

The world is returning to normal….

Even though in many places still there are problems, the failure has been fixed. The mentioned inconvenience is also a good reason to think about what place in our lives occupy social media. Unfortunately, many of us approached the above-mentioned glitch as an individual "end of the world". However, it is worth gaining some distance and enjoying life "here and now". Taking a break from social networking sites can sometimes be a good thing.
