Floating offshore wind farm. A year ago in the autumn, Equinor examined the possibilities of supplying the Gullfaks and Snorre oil fields with electricity. The energy is to flow from a floating, offshore wind farm. The Norwegian state decided to support this amazing initiative with PLN 2,3 billion. If the project is approved and specific work begins, the entire project would consist of 11 floating offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 88 MW. Hywind Tampen will float on water thanks to a special concrete base.

Floating offshore wind farm

The world needs solutions such as a floating offshore wind farm. It is of great importance for us, for the world, planet and nature:

“Both Norway and the world will need more and more renewable energy. If we can reduce costs, floating wind farms could become a huge source of such energy. In the long term, such farms will then become competitive with other energy sources. So we need projects like Hywind Tampen.” - says Nils Kristian Nakstad, CEO of Enova in a special press release.

New work places

A floating offshore wind farm can also give many people a chance to work. Multiconsult has conducted special research. According to them, the farm "Hywind Tampen" will be able to provide jobs corresponding to 1.550-3.000 jobs. Many people will be able to do important and useful work. The largest wave of employment will be noticeable already at the stage of creating and expanding the entire enterprise. If all goes well, the number of jobs will be 8.000-15.000 FTEs by 2030. This is support for the state budget at the level of 9,4 and 17,6 billion crowns.
