Tromsø – the Norwegian city of the north. Also called the Paris of the North, it is the largest city in Northern Norway. Located 350 kilometers from the Arctic Circle, known for its ability to observe the polar night, it is teeming with life and cultural events. Every year it attracts tourists both from Poland and abroad. Efficient and modern communication in the city is ensured by an extensive system of underground tunnels. Tromsø - the extraordinary Paris of the North, is also the exit route to Norkapp, which cannot be missed during the northern trip.

Living and tourism in Tromsø

The daily life of the inhabitants is largely focused on fishing - Tromsø is a port city. Among the most popular tourist attractions are therefore tourist cruises, during which you can observe whales. The city is quite mountainous, which can cause problems in an extremely frosty period, but in more favorable conditions (or in the right footwear!) It would be a sin not to visit this area. Museum The Polarmuseum will reveal to us the secrets of polarity and polar expeditions, which have traveled straight from Tromsø and other surrounding towns over the years.

Roald Amundsen, the first ever South Pole conqueror, set off to conquer the South Pole from here! Apart from the polarity itself, the museum also focuses on the reality of the former inhabitants of this region and their everyday difficulties. Another attraction on the list is sightseeing local breweries along with tasting local beer. Speaking of eating and drinking, the local specialties, apart from fish, are quite surprising for the average person. Bidos - a reindeer meat dish that resembles the well-known goulash, while Brunost - represents cheeses, specifically ... the most sweet of them.

Tromsø - the extraordinary Paris of the North - waiting for the Northern Lights….

The best opportunity to observe the Northern Lights it is certainly the spring and summer period. During this period, the sun practically does not set and the weather conditions are quite "transparent". In fact, we can observe it from anywhere, but guided tours to places with a beautiful landscape and lack of buildings are very popular. allows for close observation.  O Surprisingly, the northern lights look better in the photos than in real life - the human eye is not able to see it that well.

Panorama of Tromsø

So called for a reason - in the last century ships with luxury goods from Paris arrived in the surrounding ports. Thus, the more affluent Norwegian women kept up with the Parisian style, chic and elegance; both in terms of expensive costumes and precious jewelry. Tromsø is now "Paris" also because of its thriving nightlife. The nightlife that we associate with clubs and dancing manifests itself in Tromsø even in the form of night walks and meals.

What to see in Tromsø?

Where is worth going? Blå Rock - is a club that organizes concerts of rock bands, promoted many Norwegian alternative bands, so far you can listen to strong music live there. Burgr bar, in turn, offers the opportunity to play on old school gaming machines from the last decade. It's worth feeling this night atmosphere on your own skin!
