Norway New restrictions will come into force before !

The government will not wait for the effect of restrictions introduced last week. Now stricter restrictions are coming, warns Høie.

- The infection spreads quickly and we can't wait to see if the infection clears up by next week. That's why the government is working on new restrictions this week. This was said by Health and Health Minister Bent Høie (H) at a government press conference on Tuesday 03.11/XNUMX.

The Minister of Health is taking the situation seriously after registering 700 cases of infection in the last 24 hours. He announced that next week there will be stricter restrictions than those already in force.

- Now the situation is serious. 24 new cases of infection were registered in Norway in the last 700 hours. Every morning we wake up with new infection records. - There are epidemics in all counties, the virus spreads quickly and requires tracking - he says.

.These restrictions may come

When asked what infection control measures the government is considering introducing this week, Health Minister Bent Høie replies:

- We are still looking at the areas where we can see that there is a lot of infection. He says that this primarily applies to contacts in which we meet a lot of people and travel.

Høie says it's important for people to realize that the situation is serious. The government is looking at national restrictions and intensified local action.

If we are to succeed again, it is important that each of us can see that we are in a very serious situation and that we are in the second wave. We still have control, but we are under a lot of pressure, says Høie.

He asked municipalities to continue testing and tracing the infection.

- If we don't, it will be the beginning of losing control.

When asked when the restrictions will come, he replies "before the weekend".

Concerned about infection

24 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Norway in the last 705 hours, as the VG review shows. In Norway, a total of 21339 people have been confirmed to be infected since the outbreak began.

- The situation is serious. From the beginning of the 43rd week, the infection on the scale of the chart is vertical, says Camilla Stoltenberg, director of the National Institute of Public Health.

From week 43 to week 44, the number of cases of infection in the country doubled.

"The number of people infected is increasing in all age groups, the number of cases is increasing nationwide, the number of cases is increasing, the number of people in need of intensive care is increasing, and the number of deaths will increase," says Stoltenberg.

Health Director Bjørn Guldvog is also concerned about the spread of the infection.

- We are already starting to approach the border we had in March. I want to emphasize now that the matter is serious, he says.

This should not affect children and adolescents

The Minister for Children and Families Kjell Ingolf Ropstad (KrF) promises that the new restrictions will not affect children and young people.

- The government has promised to compensate the communes for the additional expenses they receive coronavirusso that it is not possible to limit the offers targeted at the elderly, children and adolescents - he says.

The government has allocated special measures for people elderly in difficult situations and counteracting loneliness.

The infection trend in the country is increasing, as is the case in 67 municipalities.

"We are very close and we may lose controls in some municipalities," says Høie.

The percentage of people tested for the coronavirus is much higher than in the first wave of infection. Last week, 109 people were tested, and 609 percent of those tests were positive.
