Stop the infection is an application of the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) that aims to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in society. Using it is completely voluntary and cares about your privacy. There is an age restriction of 16 years in the app.

Coronavirus is highly contagious. If you have been near an infected person, you are at risk of becoming infected yourself.

A person infected with the coronavirus will notify you of the disease, you will be notified if you were in their vicinity. If you get infected yourself, you can do the same. In this way, the app can help prevent more people from getting sick.

Neither you nor anyone else finds out who it is, you were just around the infected person.

Can i use the app?

To use the application, you must have a phone that meets the following criteria:

  • Apple: iOS devices must be updated to the minimum version of iOS 13.5. If your phone is not up-to-date, you'll be notified that you need to update your operating system when trying to download the app. In the case of iOS, the iPhone 6s is the oldest model on which the application can be used.
  • Android: Android phones must be at least version 6. They must also support the Google Play Store and have Google Play service version 20.13.xx or later installed.

Unfortunately, if you have an older phone that cannot be upgraded to meet these requirements, you cannot use Infection Stop on it.

There is an age restriction of 16 years in the app.

The application cares about your privacy

The application is based on Apple and Google technology. Privacy was very important in creating it. Here are some examples of data protection:

  • To make sure that who you are and where you have been cannot be identified, random identification keys are sent continuously over Bluetooth.
  • Information sent from phones you were nearby is safely stored and only on your phone. This means that no other app user or authority has access to information about who you were nearby or who you are.
  • It is up to each person to download and use the application. You can also delete data, deactivate the application, or remove it from your phone.
  • Our application does not collect personal data about you and therefore does not have an associated access service.
