Police in Norway's south-eastern police district check nearly 35 drivers for drunk driving every day. Every day throughout the year, three to four drivers are stopped and reported for drunk driving.

According to a population survey conducted by the police, our greatest fear is being involved in a road accident.

Changing attitudes of part of the population in their behavior on the road

A significant contribution to reducing the number road accidents is a change in the attitudes of part of the population in road behavior. In some environments it may seem that an aggressive style is acceptable driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. Police also record drivers warning each other via social media when police carry out roadside checks. In total, police patrols issued over 1300 simplified fines for traffic violations in the South East Police District in 2020.
