The solution, which is logging through the ID gateway, recorded record traffic last week with almost 10 million logins. The big increase is due to the filing of a tax return and the fact that many people log on to helsenorge.no to check covid-19 tests and find up-to-date information related to the coronavirus pandemic.

We have systems that provide citizens with good digital services

- We like to use digital solutions, and currently we are in a period of high demand for public services. I am proud that we have systems that provide residents with good digital services, says District and Digitization Minister Linda Hofstad Helleland.

3,6 million taxpayers received their tax return

Total ID gateway logins last week were 9,9 million, while the busiest week last March was 8,5 million. Last week tax return accounted for 37 percent of all logins. Residents receive their tax returns on various dates between March 16 and April 7, and each person is notified when they can check their own tax return. This happens in batches of up to 450000 alerts per day.

3,6 million people were notified of access to the tax return

In the past two weeks, 3,6 million taxpayers have been notified that a tax return is available, and two million have so far opened it. The deadline for submitting your tax return is April 30th each year.

Enormous demand for information related to the coronavirus

Another important service is helsenorge.no, which accounted for 16 percent of traffic last week. From many small services such as prescriptions, information about primary care doctors, possible places of treatment, medical records and much more. There is also a lot of traffic related to checking the results of coronavirus tests. Here you also receive up-to-date information on restriction regulations related to the coronavirus pandemic.

ID Gate nationwide solution managed by the Norwegian Directorate of Digitization

The ID Gateway is a nationwide collaborative solution managed by the Norwegian Directorate of Digitization. Logging into NAV, Altinn, and the digital mailbox also account for a large proportion of daytime ID gateway traffic. Altinn has developed solutions over the last year to help reach coronavirus-related information and services from multiple sources.

Good, stable and fast access to public services is important

- It is important that residents have good, stable and quick access to public services. Therefore, the identification gate plays a key role. It is important that we are able to cope with progress even during the busiest times, said Linda Hofstad Helleland.
