Children without hotel quarantine when traveling with or with vaccinated persons who traveled Covid-19
Being protected means being vaccinated in Norway or having COVID-19. Currently, only documentation presented by logging in to helsenorge.no is accepted. Paper prints and screenshots are not enough. You are defined as protected if you have been fully vaccinated, received a single dose, and 3 to 15 weeks have passed after receiving the dose, or have had Covid-19 in the last six months.
- If parents have to stay in quarantined hotels, it will be natural that the children they travel with will also come to quarantined hotels. However, if parents are released from quarantined hotels, we believe that it is not necessary or proportionate for parents to go to quarantined hotels for their children, says Minister Monica Mæland.

Entry quarantine persons must stay in quarantine hotels at the first point of arrival in Norway during the quarantine period
Currently, the main rule is that people covered entry quarantine must stay in hotels quarantine at the first point of arrival in Norway during the quarantine period. Quarantine hotel rules prevent people who have been in areas with high levels of infection from infecting others during their quarantine period, both people in their own household and the rest of the population.
It is not proportionate for children traveling with guardians to stay in quarantined hotels while their parents are released
Although there is a risk that children and youth, especially those aged 12 to 18, may transmit infection upon entry. However, it is not proportionate for children traveling with guardians to stay in quarantine hotels while their parents are released. Currently, exceptions can be requested where specific welfare considerations dictate that a person should not stay in quarantine hotels. Children who travel alone or for other reasons need to stay alone in quarantine hotels are included in this program. There is now also a general exemption for children traveling alone. The Ministry of Health and Healthcare is currently amending its COVID-19 regulations, with the changes effective from 12:00 today, Thursday, June 3.
The changes are in line with the recommendations of the Norwegian Health Directorate and the National Institute of Public Health.
