There will be no more tolls on Tresfjordbrua (E136 road around Vestnes) and on the local road between Øyer and Tretten on (E6).

End of toll collection for Tresfjordbrua

- It is gratifying that today (15.01/XNUMX) the toll collection for the Tresfjord bridge in Møre og Romsdal ends. We negotiated additional funds together with the Progress Party. When will it be now you can drive free of charge after the bridge, it provides us with better daily travels for people and business - said Transport Minister Knut Arild Hareide.

Toll collection at this site began on October 24, 2015, and was scheduled to be completed in 2030. The remaining debt of just over NOK 400 million will be written off as a result of the company receiving road tolls and a subsidy that allows for the phasing out of toll collection much earlier than planned.

Now it's safer and faster

The Tresfjordbrua bridge with the Vågstrand tunnel provided users with a safer road in the event of avalanches and ensures safety in traffic. In addition, the travel distance between the central locations on Sunnmøre and between Vikebukt and Helland in the municipality of Vestnes has significantly shortened.

End of toll collection on local road along E6 between Øyer and Tretten

- We are also pleased to be able to end the toll collection on the local road along the E6 between Øyer and Tretten. From 12:00 on Monday, January 18, you will be able to ride here for free. We have repaid the debt in the project as a result of an agreement between the government parties and the Progress Party, says Transport Minister Knut Arild Hareide. The toll collection began on December 17, 2012 and was to be phased out in 2024.

– End of conscription tolls in Skarsmoen are beneficial for road users moving along this section. It should also have no serious negative consequences for either traffic safety or the environment, says Hareide.

Government parties agreed with FrP subsidies for road toll projects

In the 2021 state budget, government parties agreed with FrP on seven million subsidies for the project road tolls E6 Øyer-Tretten and 400 million subsidies for the Tresfjordbrua toll project on E136 in Møre og Romsdal. Thanks to these additional measures, toll collection at these points could be ended.
