It's a good day for the Polish national team. Much depended on this event. After losing to Slovakia, our fight for promotion was in serious doubt, and the media was full of "indiscriminate", negative comments. “Ours” entered this match very bravely. They were aware that this was the so-called game for everything. At the beginning - in the 10th minute, the Spaniards took over and started dictating the terms. However, the Poles fought until the end and thanks to that the second half was very fruitful and the whole match ended in a draw.
Poland is tied and still has a chance to advance!
This was not the result we expected. We were counting on Poland's advantage, but a draw is a kind of "compromise" thanks to which our team can sleep peacefully. The Poles fought bravely, but the Spaniards had a significant advantage in the first half.
“In the 10th minute, the Spaniards started attacking more dangerously for the first time, but Dani Olmo's shot was confidently saved by Wojciech Szczęsny. What Olmo failed to achieve, Alvaro Morata achieved. The Juventus striker took advantage of Gerard Moreno's pass from the right side of the penalty area and beat his club colleague. It seemed that the former Chelsea or Real Madrid player was in an offside position, but it turned out differently and the favorites took the lead.” (Polsat Sport).
Second half of the meeting. Lewandowski scores a goal ...
Poland draws with Spain. How did this happen? After the break, good times began for the Poles. Lewandowski scores a goal. A moment later it could have been really dangerous. Gerard Moreno missed a penalty kick - to the advantage of "ours". There were two more… quite disturbing moments towards the end. Ferran Torres missed the target. Rodri then tried to shoot, but Szczęsny successfully intervened. “After two series of games, the Spaniards have two points, and the Poles - one. The leaders of group E are the Swedes (four points), and the second place, thanks to the win against Poland, is taken by Slovakia. In the last round, the White and Reds, who still have a chance to advance to the next phase of the tournament, will face Sweden. (Polsat Sport).
