NAV is looking for new solutions to prevent exclusion among young people. It invites non-profit institutions, start-ups and others to participate in the competition for further development. On Friday at doffin.no i startoff.no the "Young people on their way to work" project appeared. The project is part of the government StartOff initiative and NAV's first innovative labor market fundraising.
– Many young people find it difficult to gain a foothold in professional life. At the same time, many of them are at risk of being eliminated from the labor market for a long time. We are currently looking at various options to help more of these people find work. Among other things, we want to find out whether there are alternative ways of obtaining work than those we use today, says Director of Labor and Social Welfare Hans Christian Holte.
Will increase the use of innovative procurement
The Outdoor Research Report, which was released earlier this year, indicates that gaining access to the field of action can be challenging for small entrepreneurs and people with new ideas. This may mean that new solutions that attract more people to work or education will not be taken into account. The aim of the increased use of innovative procurement in the field of activities is to strengthen the further development and renewal of funds.
- We are not dissatisfied with the current system as it works today, but we wonder if it is possible to make it better. Among other things, we find it interesting to investigate whether there are approaches that motivate jobseekers to work harder and provide more or better prospects for getting a job, says Holte.
Participates in StartOff
The project "Youth on the way to work" is one of the few NAV projects acquired by StartOff. Another project is "Recruitment solutions for user services". It addresses technology environments whose mission is to develop better user testing tools.
- In order for us to develop better and better services at NAV, we need a new force of thinking and innovation. This power is in start-ups or other smaller companies. This applies to the entire public sector, and we often have overlapping challenges. If, thanks to such projects, we manage to find new solutions, such as technological or better processes. They will benefit not only NAV users, but also all those who need such solutions, says Holte.
