, up to 60 millimeters of rain overnight in several places in eastern Norway. Meteorologists warn this could cause both drainage and traffic problems.

Danger warnings have been issued for Vestfold, Telemark, and Agder. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute estimates that in the evening and at night they can expect a huge amount of rainfall, up to 60 millimeters.

- The forecast is valid only until Tuesday morning, but there will be a lot of rainfall throughout the week, says meteorologist Espen Biseth Granan on duty. He warns that rainfall can lead to small floods on the streets, which could result in traffic problems in eastern Norway.

– Surface waters may have impact on local driving conditions. Those who live in areas where problems may occur should make sure the water can go down the drain. They need to make sure that drains are not blocked by, for example, leaves etc., says Granan.

, insurance companies ask for caution

Insurance company Tryg is expecting more damage and is asking people to take precautions.

- We expect that the greatest damage will be caused by gusts of wind and precipitation. People often don't clean garden furniture after summer, so we advise you to secure all loose items outside as soon as possible. Tie up a trampoline and clean up garden furniture, umbrellas, party tents and barbecues, writes Torbjørn Brandeggen, Communications Consultant at Tryg, in a press release. The insurance company points out that when there is so much rainfall in such a short time, it can cause damage such as flooded basements, backflow of sewers or cars under water.

- People should make sure that the path where the water is to flow is free of leaves, dirt and other obstructions. It is also best not to park your car near the manhole. With surface water, the risk is high and the roads are closed, so the smartest thing to do is leave the car at home, says Brandeggen.

Bad weather during fall break

Although the warning only lasts until Tuesday morning, it will remain in force for the rest of the week in eastern Norway. According to the current forecast, this weather will continue into the week autumn holidays in municipalities such as Oslo and Viken. In other places, such as Telemark, Vestfold and Vestland, autumn holidays do not start until October 11

- As for the weather, it will not be a good start to the autumn holidays. You can expect a lot of rainfall and gray clouds, says Granan. He also points out that this is what is called typical autumn weather.

Weather winners in the north of the country

September was extremely dry in the south and east of the country. Meteorologists believe that raindrops are finally arriving in the arid parts of the country. And this, among other things, helps to fill up reservoirs and the groundwater level.

However, in the north, people are better prepared for high electricity prices in the autumn period. And all because it rains much more there in summer than in the south. They are also having more fun now as high temperatures are currently recorded in several places in the north. On Monday, over 20 degrees Celsius was recorded in Birtavarre, Kåfjord in Troms.

- There are several pleasant temperatures in the north, with warm air, sun and pleasant weather - says the meteorologist.
