The Oslofjord tunnel on the E134 road will be closed all weekend

The reason is scheduled repairs of wall elements. The E134 Oslofjord tunnel will be closed from Friday 8 October 22:00 until Monday 11 October 05:30.

- The reason for the closure is repairs after a road accident that took place on September 27, where, among other things, three wall elements were damaged - says tunnel manager Anine Kalmo Larsen from the Norwegian Public Road Administration.

Since the accident, one lane has been closed and has been put in place speed limit.

Work that will take place this weekend. Removal of damaged wall elements, execution of earthworks and installation of three new elements. In addition, crews must perform fire protection and check the cables that are buried in the ground at this point. If they are damaged, they must be repaired or replaced. The work will be carried out by the operational contractor Mesta with the assistance of Veidekke.

- The reason the tunnel has to be closed at the weekend is that the works cannot be carried out in a traffic-safe manner until it is fully completed, the tunnel will be closed. This is Larsen.
