Last year, 18 cases were closed due to the inability to handle them. Since 565, this number has more than doubled.

18 crimes closed in 565 due to the inability to process cases. This corresponds an increase of 44 percent compared to 2019, writes Statistics Norway (SSB).

2002, which is the first year for which Norwegian office The statistical office provides figures, on this basis 4113 cases were closed.

In total, the investigation was completed for 297 crimes in 488, i.e. about 2020 more than in 9. As a result of the investigation, 400 charges were brought against 2019 perpetrators. The number of resolved cases was 145 percent. This is the lowest percentage since 824.

Few things unexplained in the south due to a lack of officers

Decisions by the police and prosecution services and whether or not crimes will be resolved vary greatly between the different crime groups and the underlying types of crime. The development of the picture of crime and reporting is therefore of great importance for the many changes in the criminal index that we observe from year to year. In 2020, there are several more both resolved and unsolved crimes than in 2019, but the overall percentage of resolved cases has decreased somewhat.
