Radio Wataha once again had a conversation with the representative of Caritas Norge, Natasza Bogacz, this time about vaccinations in Norway. You can find the entire conversation in the form of a video at the end of the article.

In the interview, you will find information on what rules apply in Norway, who can get vaccinated and what documents are needed during the visit.

W In Norway, anyone residing in the country can be vaccinated, regardless of whether he is working, unemployed, a tourist or what he is doing in Norway. Of course, we are still talking about people who want to get vaccinated because it is voluntary and no one is forced to get vaccinated.

Caritas Norge talks all the time with representatives of the authorities who are responsible for how the vaccination is carried out and what is the procedure. In Norway, there is no question of compulsory vaccination, no distinction between the vaccinated and unvaccinated, and no restrictions on entering restaurants, cinemas and the like.

From the documents that you need to take, you will need a photo document, for example an identity card or passport. We will not need an employment contract or other documents.

Organization at the level of communes

It is worth noting that vaccinations are organized at the municipal level, which means that each municipality has its own system. You can call Caritas Norge to find out more about the immunization system in our municipality. During the interview, we will also obtain information on where and when to get the vaccine.

Most municipalities in Norway give the first dose as a drop in. This means that we can go straight from the street to the vaccination point with a valid document and we will receive the vaccine. We should get the date for the second dose right away, but if we don't get it, we can ask, it may also be that the second dose is given by the drop-in method. You can also call Caritas Norge on 920 63 739. You will get all information on this number in Polish. Someone will always try to answer the phone, if not, they will call you back.

How to get vaccinated in Oslo

Caritas Norge proposed to the municipality of Oslo that the problem with communication about vaccinations should be solved by the presence of at least one of the vaccination centers in the city, an informed person who speaks Polish.

The Municipality of Oslo has greatly simplified the task for someone willing to vaccinate. Because he uses the drop-in method and all vaccination centers are open Monday through Friday. These points are located in every part of the city, and you can simply enter them with an important document.

However, it is worth going to the vaccination center, which is assigned to our part of the city, i.e. where we have a report. However, when we do not have a permanent place of residence, we can go to the point closest to us.

Koronasertifikat, or vaccination certificate

After you have been vaccinated with two doses, you should obtain a so-called coronasertifikat, i.e. a vaccination certificate. It is an important document when traveling and in other situations to show that we are vaccinated.

The certificate is available on helsenorge.no, where we log in using BankId. If we only have MinId or MinIdPass, unfortunately we will not log in to the website, you must have a ByPass at least. However, there is a paper solution, the waiting time for such a document is about a month. We submit the application for its issuance on paper by sending the letter by post, and the certificate will also come home by post.

Caritas Norge does not know what the situation is with people without any registration of residence in the country, but it is being investigated by the authorities. In addition, the authorities are still working on improving the registration of vaccinations from Poland.

Currently, you have to pay your own contribution, which is a fee for a visit to the doctor, so that he can register the vaccination. Of course, this can also be done when visiting a doctor with something else. However, the authorities are still working on improving registration and making it free of charge.

Oslo Municipality wants to make things easier a person without a permanent number. Because during vaccination, we are supposed to get an identification number that we use to log in to the system later. It is also possible that we will be able to use it to obtain a certificate. For now, we don't know what it will look like in practice, but the authorities are working hard on it.

Vaccination statistics

Vaccination statistics are important to the Norwegian authorities because they help make decisions about the pandemic. As of today, the authorities do not know how many Poles in Norway is vaccinated. Current data shows that approximately 6 Poles in Oslo are vaccinated, but 500 are still unvaccinated. Most likely, these statistics are incorrect, because many of these people could have been vaccinated in Poland. That is why it is in the interest of the authorities to simplify and improve vaccination registration.

Poles are asked to register, because we do not want to accuse us of not vaccinating or importing COVID-19 from abroad. The only thing the state intends to do with registration is statistics.
