. Drive carefully and watch out for slippery roads as several cars have already gone off the road.

There has been some snow on the roads in both the east and south in Norway. In the central part of the country, several cars fell off the road. The main traffic operator of Gry Solli in the eastern traffic center gives a clear recommendation to those who will use the car today:

"If you haven't fitted winter tires, you have to consider whether you should go," says Solli.

Solli reports that there is a lot of snow on the hills and a lot of sleet in the lowlands. Also this morning the main one way to Oslo it was wet and slippery. Solli adds that you have to be very careful to maintain both speed limit, as well as the distance to other drivers. You are also encouraged to drive extremely carefully on roads less traveled.

- It is clear that the rush of drivers in the morning can quickly cause small bumps, says Solli.

Similar recommendations apply to roads further south of the country. Snow has been reported on mountain passes in southern Norway as well as in the old municipality of Buskerud. Chief traffic operator Kari Hefre in the southern traffic center reports that they have dispatched all crews to clear snow and secure roads. Kari Hefre says that only winter tires are valid now.

– Today we encourage everyone who has not done so yet to change to winter tires driving adapted to weather conditions – says Hefre.

The first snowfall and a few falls from the road

On Tuesday morning, police in the central part of the country are noticing more and more cars landing in the ditches.

"Too early for applications, but reports of snow on the road and slippery driving conditions are everywhere," says Central Police Operations Manager Bård Einar Hoft.

Of the three reported car accidents on Twitter by the police, one person was taken to hospital after falling off National Highway 4 in Reinsvoll. The extent of the damage is not yet known, but the person was conscious when the ambulance transported him to the hospital. Hoft also gives clear advice to those who will drive the car.

- First of all, calm down and plan extra travel time. Also make sure the vehicle has good tires and is properly prepared for the weather conditions. If in doubt, leave your car and use public transport.

Police in the east also report several accidents and cars failing on the road.

- The police must prioritize which reports they are to go to. Drivers should leave their car in the garage if they do not have the correct tires. Additionally, some roads in Romerike are also very slippery, so it is advisable to drive carefully, the police say on Twitter.
