On Friday, October 29, the municipality of Oslo is celebrating its 50th anniversary labor immigration from Pakistan. King Harald is one of those who will participate in the celebration.
For 50 years, working immigrants contributed to making Oslo a more open and diverse city, writes the municipality of Oslo in a press release. King Harald is among the guests.
Friday is dedicated to a ceremony in the Town Hall for guests with speeches, incl. Pakistan's ambassador to Norway. On Saturday, October 30, a folklore festival will take place in Rådhusplassen.
Immigration from Pakistan began in the mid-60s and has increased since 1971.
