Electricity grid rent will rise sharply next year due to high electricity prices and grid investment, warns the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate.
- We expect a significant increase in prices for customers. The new system is completely independent of the new network rental pricing model and will be effective January 1, says Tore Langset at NVE.
It is the NVE that decides how much network companies can charge for providing electricity to customers.
The most important reason for the hike is that next year energy prices are expected to be much higher than expected earlier this year, Langset explains.
– The second reason is this interest rates and inflation are higher than expected this year compared to the same period last year.
