An experimental HIV vaccine based on mRNA, the same technology used in two successful coronavirus vaccines, according to a new study. It brought promising results.
According to a study published in the journal Nature Medicine on Thursday, experiments in mice and monkeys show positive symptoms.
A study by scientists from the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Moderna and other institutions showed. That the vaccine was safe and provided the desired immune response to HIV-like virus.
Monkeys given the first dose followed by several more doses. They had a 79% lower risk of shiv infection than unvaccinated animals.
Mice given two doses of the vaccine received neutralizing antibodies, proteins that attach to the surface of the virus and prevent it from invading the cells.
