The Agder Police District announced a case against the hospital on Friday will be closed. Violations of the relevant legal authority are subject to a two-year statute of limitations. This means that criminal acts that occurred before April 13, 2019 are time-barred.

Now the management has been improved and the procedures for controlling the competences of doctors have been tightened

In 2008-2020, the police established contacts with the health funds of Sørlandet hospitals, both in Flekkefjord and Kristiansand.

The investigation revealed that the hospital had applied sufficient control measures to the doctor in question, police said. Now the management has been improved and the procedures for controlling the competences of doctors have been tightened.

On this basis, it was concluded that the case against Sørlandet Hospital Health Enterprise must be closed due to the statute of limitations.

The case against the doctor has not yet been fully investigated. The Kazakh doctor left the country and works in Germany. Police expect the investigation to end early next year.
