Sørlandet Hospital was reported for violating the Medical Personnel Act after several patients were seriously injured as a result of incorrect surgery. Now this case is closed.

The Agder Police District announced a case against the hospital on Friday will be closed. Violations of the relevant legal authority are subject to a two-year statute of limitations. This means that criminal acts that occurred before April 13, 2019 are time-barred.

In 2008-2020, the police established contacts with the health funds of Sørlandet hospitals, both in Flekkefjord and Kristiansand.

On this basis, it was concluded that the case against Sørlandet Hospital Health Enterprise must be closed due to the statute of limitations.
The case against the doctor has not yet been fully investigated. The Kazakh doctor left the country and works in Germany. Police expect the investigation to end early next year.
