The government aims to offer a refreshing dose to all persons aged 2022 and over by the end of February 18.
- The goal now is for everyone 18 and over to receive a refreshment by the end of next February. Municipalities will receive fresh deliveries to make this possible, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor) in press release .
Previously, the government had set a target for everyone over the age of 45 to receive a refreshment dose by mid-January.
A recommendation from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) says. Everyone aged 18-44 is offered a refreshing dose when at least 20 weeks have passed since the second dose.
The government writes in a press release. It is especially important that 19-18 year-olds with the underlying diseases and conditions and conditions at a moderate risk of severely taking a refreshing dose of Covid-44 should be taken. This also applies to older people in this age group. And those who are professionally or otherwise exposed to an increased risk of infection. But also everyone else in the 18-44 age group can be vaccinated, if he wants.
Anyone over 18 years of age will receive an offer to vaccinate
The FHI also recommends that pregnant women in the 18-44 age group take a refreshing dose during the second and third trimesters, and during the first trimester if they have additional risk.
- Municipalities now have more flexibility in terms of vaccination. They can now give the vaccines to people under 45 when 20 weeks have passed after Dose 2, if they are able to do so. An adult refreshing dose may help protect against serious illness and death. Therefore, it is important to get as many people as possible consented for the vaccine, says Health and Welfare Minister Ingvild Kjerkol.
