In 2021, the increase in rental prices was moderate. The exceptions are Stavanger and Sandnes, where rental prices have soared.

In total apartment rental prices in Norway increased by 2021% in 1,4. While in Oslo and Bergen prices increased by 1,2% respectively. and 4,3 percent During the year, rental prices in Trondheim fell by 3%.

The data comes from the press release of Eiendom Norge.

Stavanger and Sandnes saw a sharp rise with an 11% increase in rental prices.

– We previously declared that the secondary housing market in the Stavanger region is stable. The rental apartment market in the region has returned after many years weak years after the industry slowed down oil. This is reported by CEO Henning Lauridsen from Eiendom Norge.

Stavanger and Sandnes also saw their strongest growth in the fourth quarter of 2021 with an increase of 6,4%. In Oslo, prices increased by 0,1 percent. In Bergen and Trondheim, they fell by 4,4 and 5,9 percent.

Lauridsen says lease developments tend to be weak in the last quarter of the year, but Stavanger and Sandnes have stood out strongly over the past year.

- In Bergen and Trondheim, we have historically seen that developments have fluctuated greatly. In our opinion, this is due to the fact that there are especially many students who rent apartments.
