It is amazing to help others in times of crisis. We can organize ourselves quickly and we do it with the heart. There are many such examples that we come across on a daily basis. Meet Ewelina Sternal, Barbara Samborska from Gan.
Where did the idea come from ...
in fact, out of helplessness that we can do so little for them, out of fear of war, we can turn ourselves on and off, like a television set. You sit on the sofa, with coffee, tea and watch like in a cinema ... war, suffering, terror, Ukrainians, Russians ... but it's not a movie, it's really happening.
Seemingly far away, but still close, very close. My couch helplessness scared me, the topic of the war somehow became silent that after the first two weeks people started to get used to it, to get used to it, to talk about it less…. Out of this horror, I called Basia's friend and asked us to do something, whatever they did, because doing nothing would be the worst.
She agreed, we have to come up with something.
We came up with an idea, cake, coffee at the local Joker. They know us there, they will not pass by indifferently. We found you WATAHA INTEGRASION FORENING. A quick phone call to the closest friends, everyone will be happy to bake something, will help. The team of employees from Joker from Gan is open to our idea. Fast poster printing, fb info, cakes collection, filling thermos flasks with fresh coffee and we are ready for the Joker.

A moment of time at the oven and these 4 hours in front of the store. It doesn't seem like much, but still... You can't remain indifferent, you can't do nothing. It's good to help, get off the sofa and reach out to people. Who we are? Barbara and I, two Polish women living in Gan for years, lucky people who have themselves and a pack friends you can always count on
The fundraiser was a success
As it turned out, we collected a total of 9700 Nok during these few hours. We were shocked because in fact we were expecting 2 to a maximum of 4.
