In the coming weeks, random people from across the population will be invited to take part in this year's Citizenship Survey. It may therefore happen that you receive both an email and a text message from Kantar Public / TNS Gallup, which is sending out a survey on behalf of the Norwegian Police Directorate. The sender of the email will be [email protected]

“We have received feedback from concerned residents who are wondering if this could be a scam attempt. We can confirm that the invitation is completely genuine and we hope that anyone who receives an email or text message from Kantar will take the time to respond. This will be of great help to us in our efforts to improve police services, says Deputy Police Director Håkon Skulstad.

Survey information

The Police Citizens' Survey is an annual survey of citizens' opinions about the police in Norway. The survey results are important for police development and management and will also be used for research and educational purposes. The survey provides an overview of citizens' opinions on the topic police, concerns and experiences of crime in their own local area.

This year's survey consists of six parts:

  • Trust the police and the public
  • Availability and presence of the police
  • Your own sense of security in the area where you live and travel
  • Security and meeting the police online
  • Crime experience
  • Contact the police
