Slightly less satisfied with the gastronomic offer
The food offer is one of the areas parents are least satisfied with in the parent survey. 69,5 percent declares that they are satisfied with the food offered in the kindergarten. This is slightly less than in 2021, where the corresponding percentage was 71,8 percent, but it is higher than in 2020, where 62 percent. were satisfied with the food offered. 16,9 percent of parents declare that they are neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with the food offered. Parents were the least satisfied with the food offer in 2020 in the last five years.
Parents of children in private kindergartens are slightly more satisfied
On a national scale, parents of children in private kindergartens are more satisfied with the kindergartens' offer than parents of children in municipal kindergartens. Parents of children in private kindergartens are more satisfied, among others: the framework conditions of the kindergarten, such as premises, toys, equipment or staffing. In 2022, parents of children in private kindergartens were also more satisfied with the food offered. The difference is probably due to the fact that tuition fees are higher in private kindergartens than in municipal ones. On average, parents pay NOK 309 for meals in municipal kindergartens and NOK 370 in private ones.
Parents of minority children are equally satisfied with the kindergarten's offer
270 children attend kindergartens, of which approximately 000 in 1 have a mother tongue other than Norwegian. This is reflected in the responses to the parent survey, in which over 5 in 1 declare that they are parents of children who speak another language. The parents of these children are almost as satisfied with the kindergarten as the parents of children whose mother tongue is Norwegian. 5 percent parents of minority children declare that they are satisfied with the kindergartens' offer, a among children's parentswhose native language is Norwegian, this percentage is 93,3%. This is at 2021 levels.

Compared to parents children whose mother tongue is Norwegian, parents of children whose mother tongue is other than Norwegian are slightly more satisfied with the general conditions in the kindergarten (rooms, outdoor area) and the staff density. 85,5 percent parents of linguistic minority children declare that they are satisfied with the kindergarten facilities. At the same time, among parents of children whose native language is Norwegian, this percentage is 80,6%. 79,9 percent of parents of children who speak minority languages are satisfied with the kindergarten staff, compared to 73 percent of parents of children whose mother tongue is Norwegian. It is conceivable that some parents of minority language children come from a country with no childcare facilities or with fewer childcare facilities. Therefore, the childcare facilities for these parents are better compared to parents of children whose mother tongue is Norwegian.
Satisfied with the adaptation period in kindergarten, the language development of the child
Parents of minority children and children whose mother tongue is Norwegian are almost equally satisfied with the adaptation period in kindergarten, the child's language development, friends in the facility and the well-being of the child. One of the few indicators parents of Norwegian mother tongue children are more satisfied with is the food on offer. 70,5 percent of parents of Norwegian mother tongue children are satisfied with the food on offer, compared to 66,4 percent of parents of language minority children. One can imagine that the difference in satisfaction with the food offer is related to different food cultures.
