In the autumn of last year, the Ministry of Transport sent a proposal to increase the rates for traffic offenses by 30 percent for consultations. There were those who spoke out against the proposal, including the police. Now, however, the increase has been approved and has entered into force.

The last change in fine rates for traffic offenses took place on March 1 last year.

If there are several infringements that can all be dealt with with a simplified fine, they can be settled with a combined fine. The highest single penalty is imposed in full, and the sum of the remaining penalties is reduced by 50%. However, a simplified decision is not issued in any case when the total fine according to these provisions exceeds NOK 26.
