– The involvement in the consultation round was broad, which we took into account in the assessment. Now we are amending the proposal and making changes that include more households in the electricity subsidy scheme, says Oil and Energy Minister Terje Aasland.

The changes mean that the deadline by which the customer must have a registered address at the holiday home as a condition for being eligible for the program has been set for January 18, 2023.

In the light of the consultation comments of the network companies, a common deadline for the return of the allowance is set electricity. The time is set equally for everyone affected by the change.

– This shows how important the input to the consultation is. This case is one of several that have attracted interest recently, says the minister.

Customers must contact the grid company to receive the electricity allowance. If the energy company does not have the necessary access to information in the register of persons, customers must obtain the documentation from the tax office themselves and provide it to the company.

Households registered as residents in holiday homes after 18 January 2023 may receive support if the municipality submits a change of use permit. However, customers will not receive support for early consumption.

Energy support will be included on the first possible invoice. January invoices are being issued. However, for the vast majority of people, the benefit will come on an invoice issued in March for consumption in February.
