How to get a passport in Poland?

The opening of passport services in Poland became possible thanks to Resolution No. 678 of June 10, 2022. It is about the implementation of a pilot project on issuing a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad to all those who stay outside Ukraine.

Currently, Ukrainians can make documents in:

On January 30, a new passport service was opened in Krakow. Located on Peacock 5. Near the railway station in the Galeria Krakowska shopping center. You have to go up to the second floor to find the passport service. At the same time, the document processing point near the station building will also receive visitors.

In the DP Document service, you can get both a passport and an ID card. And it is even possible to draw up both documents at the same time. It is also possible to obtain a passport for children (under 16 years of age). Document prices oscillate in the following range:

  • Production of a foreign passport. Urgent - 1496 UAH + 370 PLN service fee. Not urgent - 856 UAH + 370 PLN service fee;
  • Identity card production. Urgent - 820 hryvnias + 370 PLN service fee. Not urgent – ​​450 hryvnias + 370 PLN service fee.

The deadline for the production of documents will take from 20 to 45 business days. However, due to the huge demand, these deadlines may be extended.

To apply for a passport, the following documents must be submitted:

  1. Passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
  2. NIP (identification number);
  3. Application form (to be completed on site);
  4. If any, previously issued foreign passports;
  5. If your passport has been stolen – an extract from the Unified Register of Preparatory Proceedings;
  6. If you received a passport in a territory not controlled by Ukraine, you must take with you any document that contains your image. You will find a complete list of documents that may be suitable for you at the link.

How to exchange a driving license in Poland?

Another service provided by DP Document is the exchange or getting a new driving license. The document is subject to exchange if:

  • Your driving license has been destroyed, which makes it impossible to use it (e.g. records cannot be read, etc.);
  • There has been a change in the owner's personal data (e.g. surname, first name, patronymic, gender);
  • There is a need to specify personal data in Latin letters, change the type of digitized facial expression, etc.

Such a service costs 254 UAH + 420 PLN service fee. The period for which a new document is issued is 30 years. The driver's license is printed on the spot and issued immediately after registration.

The driving license can be exchanged directly at the stationary service, but according to a different schedule (differs from the general schedule of the centre): Tue-Fri: 10:00-17:00, Sat: 10:00-15:30, Sun., Mon. - weekend.

Documents required to issue a new driving license:

  1. Passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
  2. Certificate of assigning the registration number of the taxpayer's settlement card;
  3. your current driving license;
  4. If you have changed your personal data - a document confirming it;
  5. Medical certificate confirming fitness to drive (form 083/o). But currently, due to martial law, it is not required.
