Small gestures of goodwill can make a huge difference to others and affect their lives in a positive way. Spontaneous helping others is a behavior that consists in helping in a selfless, unexpected and unplanned way. It is important to help in an authentic and sincere way, without expecting a reward or recognition.

Jacek is an employee of Rema 1000 Arnebråtveien in the Vestre Aker district in Oslo, who caused a spontaneous reaction in a difficult situation in which the store's client found herself.

– The old lady was at home to get the card, she couldn't find it, so she brought what she had in cash. I told you we'll see how long it takes. Not all 480kr was missing. It made me sad when I saw how you have to choose what you need most, Jacek wrote to us

What happened next sparked a spontaneous reaction from other customers standing in line to checkout at the store.

“I offered to pay for the rest. After that, my colleague Afraseyab said he would chip in” - and continues Jacek, - The lady in his cash register (known artist Unni Wilhelmsen) said that she would chip in too, then another customer from the cash register next to him also said that he would help. There was an incredible atmosphere where everyone was excited about the situation, in the sense that so many people together contributed to such a goal. After the whole incident, Unni said that as it is here (in our rem) she has to shop here more often.

You always have to help others

What made you react like that?

– I was motivated simply by good upbringing and the fact that I saw my parents and grandparents do it many times as a child, and learning that you always have to help others. My boss was very pleased with our behavior and vipps us 300kr from his private account, - writes Jacek.

We, as the editorial staff, congratulate Jacek and we were very pleased to write about it on Wataha.no

Let us remember that helping others can also contribute to building better interpersonal relationships, because altruistic actions often lead to greater commitment and mutual respect.

Helping others, in turn, is a way to express empathy and concern for other people. Altruistic activities, such as helping those in need, victims of disasters or simply people who surround us, are an expression of our empathy and commitment to good interpersonal relationships.
