When is Vinmonopolet open on Easter?

Have you ever experienced a closed Vinmonopolet shop door during Easter? The opening and closing of liquor stores is strictly regulated by the Alcohol Act, which sets out strict rules regarding opening hours.

Alcohol Act

Pursuant to § 3-4 of the Alcohol Act, Vinmonopolet stores can be open until 18:00 p.m., except for days preceding Sundays and holidays, when it closes at 16:00 p.m. During Easter 2023, liquor stores will be open on Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4, and on Wednesday, April 5, they will be open until 16 p.m. at the latest. On Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, shops will be closed, and on Holy Saturday they will be open until 00 p.m. at the latest. On Easter Sunday, April 15 and 00, Vinmonopolet stores will be closed.
