At the end of August this year. it turned out that Solberg's husband was trading shares while she was prime minister. On September 15, Erna Solberg organized a press conference on this matter. On this basis, Økokrim examined whether there were grounds to initiate an investigation against Solberg or her husband.

Økokrim reviewed share transactions

Økokrim assessed Finnes' securities transactions during the period when Solberg was prime minister, from 2013 to 2021. In particular, Økokrim checked whether there was evidence that confidential information may have reached Finnes from Solberg or other sources and whether there is evidence that he used such information in his investments.

The decision is now clear, and Økokrim said there is no justification reason to investigate the matter existence of a crime.

-  Økokrim's task was to assess whether there was evidence for violation of the Act on securities trading. We didn't find any uploads for thisK – says the head of Økokrim Pål K. Lønseth.

Searching for traces of criminal activity

Økokrim's rating is based on actual share transactions. Trades are carefully assessed based on available information, for example growth prices and the basis for the increase.

-  Økokrim is the police agency that only assessed whether criminal circumstances may have existed in this case, says Lønseth.
