National Day of November 11 - Day of Remembrance and Commemoration
November 11 is a special day for every Pole - the moment when we together celebrate Poland regaining independence. It's a time to remember the great heroes of history and express gratitude for the freedom we experience every day. Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo organizes a number of events that will enable the Polish community in Norway and Polish supporters to celebrate this holiday in a dignified way.
Flower Laying Ceremony by the Consul of the Republic of Poland
On Saturday, November 11 at 11:00, the Consul of the Republic of Poland, Mrs. Agnieszka Kucińska-Spyrka, will lay flowers at the Monument to the Polish Pilots and the Silent Unseen, located at the Vestre Gravlund cemetery. It is a symbolic gesture of memory of those who contributed to Poland regaining freedom.
Spiritual Reflection and Musical Celebration in the Cathedral of St. Olaf
At 19:00 p.m. on the same day, in the Cathedral of St. Olaf, there will be a holy mass for the homeland, accompanied by a special concert. The SAMHOLD band Singing Without Borders - Sang Over Grenser will take us on a journey through the most beautiful Polish melodies, which are also a reflection of the spirit of the nation and its path to freedom.
Official Celebrations with the Diplomatic Corps and Norwegian Authorities
The official celebration is scheduled for Monday, November 13, at 10:45 a.m National Day. This event will bring together representatives of the diplomatic corps and Norwegian authorities and will take place in the same place as Saturday's flower laying.
