From November 22 at 8.00:233 a.m., the emergency department in Oslo is moving to a new location at Trondheimsveien XNUMX in Aker Hospital.

All patients requiring emergency care before 08:00 on November 22, 2023 should use the premises at Storgata or the existing Legevakt Aker premises (limited opening hours, Trondheimsveien 235, Bygg 4 and 10).

Why a new emergency room?

The Emergency Room at Storgata has been accepting patients for over 120 years, and the current main building dates back to 1959. The rooms are outdated and have too little space. That's why the municipality of Oslo built a new emergency room at Aker Hospital. The new emergency room will have the same services as today's emergency rooms, but will have a larger capacity and new, modern rooms. Once Nye Aker Hospital is completed in 2031, the emergency department will be the closest neighbor to a full-fledged emergency hospital with the functions of a community hospital.

The emergency room in Oslo is the result of cooperation between the Oslo city authorities and the University Hospital in Oslo. In case of illness, we recommend contacting us by phone116 117. If you have an injury, seek a professional assessment.

How to get there?

The new address of the emergency department is Trondheimsveien 233, building no. 40 of Aker Hospital.

Car/taxi

  • From Trondheimsveien: take the exit for Aker Hospital and follow the signs when entering the area. You can park in the garage under the emergency room. Persons accompanying the patient can drive to the entrance, drop the patient off and continue driving.
  • From Sinsenveien: turn left at the main entrance of Aker Hospital and follow the signs for building number 40.

Public transport

  • The nearest public transport stop is Aker Hospital in Trondheimsveien. Bus lines 31, 33 and 58 stop here. Buses 380 and 390 leave only towards the city center.
  • You can also take the metro, bus and tram to Sinsenkrysset and the bus to Aker Hospital. Alternatively, you can follow the gravel walkway to the emergency room on the north side of Sinsenkrysset. Part of the walkway is steep and due to construction works, part of the walkway was placed in a pedestrian tunnel. Therefore, it is best suited for people without physical aids such as a wheelchair or stroller.
  • Trains between Oslo S and Jaren/Gjøvik (RE30/R31) stop at Grefsen station. From here it takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to Aker Hospital.
  • Find your way to the new emergency room by public transport(router.no)

pharmacy

The XNUMX-hour pharmacy is located in the same building as the emergency room, just outside the emergency room entrance.
