Økokrim has prioritized exposing fraud related to the coronavirus pandemic

The case is part of the Økokrim initiative against the abuse of various support programs in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic and introduced during the pandemic. Økokrim investigated and prosecuted several such cases. Økokrim is currently finalizing the last of these cases.

-  The support systems were based on a special trust fund. For preventive reasons, it is important that these violations are detected. In the event of a crisis, emergency solutions and responsive authorities are needed. The use of such support programs is a serious matter and it is important to monitor abuse , says police lawyer Kristian Johansen.
