Registration of a motorhome, motorcycle or hobby car
Remember to register your vehicle, whether it's a motorcycle, camper or something else, before using it again, we read on the website of the Norwegian Public Roads Authority. You can easily do this on website vegvesen.no/dinside.
Please remember that to register a vehicle you must have valid insurance.
– Even if you have the plates, driving a deregistered vehicle is illegal, says Tonje Sundland Mogensen, head of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Fine of NOK 5000
If you use a vehicle that has been deregistered, you will be charged NOK 5000 and the plates will be confiscated. If you are involved in an accident with an uninsured vehicle, you may be held financially responsible.
From September 12, 2022, it has become possible to deregister and re-register vehicles online and retain the plates.
