Another issue that raises concern and opposition from Norwegian truck drivers - the behavior of foreign drivers avoiding tolls. Recall that the Norwegian roads are still fighting between Scandinavian and Eastern European carriers. Foreign truck drivers avoid tolls, and the costs of running a business and maintaining a fleet of cars are much lower in Eastern Europe than in Norway.

Foreign drivers avoid gate fees

Norwegian drivers are strongly opposed by the fact that foreign drivers avoid paying gate fees in Norway: “It can be well documented that not everyone pays the tolls. Often, in addition to legal AutoPass cubes, they also use manipulated cubes and during the inspection everything looks fine. But the fees are not discharged. ”- Per Einar Sand, owner of the shipping company Svensrud Transport for Nettavisen.

Road tolls - statistics

Norwegian Association The National Truck Transport Association (Norsk Lastebileierforbund NLF) carried out special tests some time ago. The analyzes clearly show that 4,5 percent of foreign trucks do not pay at the toll gates. 1 in 4 trucks skip payments. Taking into account the number of journeys, this is a large percentage.

Higher goal fees

The "conflict" mood is certainly intensified by the introduction of changes in road traffic, which will come into force soon.
