The multilingual library, also known as "Det flerspraklige dobre", is a key support tool for all libraries in Norway, enabling them to operate effectively in the area of multiculturalism. This is a free offer, available to everyone. Most libraries have numerous books and movies in Norwegian and English, as well as CDs with music and games for rent.

A multilingual library is a great solution
A modern library is not only a place where books and other materials are collected, but also a cultural institution that provides various resources, especially books. The multilingual library provides access to knowledge and culture in many languages, including Polish, for everyone. All Norwegian residents can apply for a card at the library by showing their ID. Getting a library card is free, as is borrowing materials.
Books in Polish in a Norwegian library
If your local library doesn't have what you're looking for in Polish, ask the staff about the possibility of ordering it from the Multilingual Library (DFB) in Oslo. Orders from the DFB are free of charge, and holders of a national library card can place them themselves via the website libraryutvikling.no.
DFB's resources include books in almost 50 languages, including Polish.
Children's books and more
At your local library, you can find a book for yourself or for your child, in Polish. If you have books you don't need, you can donate them to your local library so that others can use them.
Access to culture and knowledge in Polish in Norwegian libraries is now easier than ever before.
