The "Rodzice - Dzieciom" association was established on the initiative of parents. Exactly three mothers and one sisters who wanted to create a friendly place for their children.
Then the Polish Saturday School was established. Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Moss. The place where the Polish community children and teenagers can speak in their native language, expand knowledge about Poland, history, geography, Polish traditions and culture. In this way, we want to build and consolidate national identity among young Poles.
School goals
Our main task and goal is the comprehensive development of the student's personality and learning the Polish language. We organize many different events. From workshops for parents, so that they can improve their parenting qualifications, through training for our staff, to additional classes for our pupils.
For example, "Flying Academy of Ideas", and in it "MATMAGIA" - the foundation of logical thinking is mathematics or "TALENT FACTORY" - vocal classes with the finalists of The Voice of Poland. We try to diversify the classes so that the children willingly come to the lessons on Saturday. It should be remembered that most of their Norwegian friends have days off, and for our pupils it is the sixth consecutive day of schooling.
Another example is the series of workshops "CHILDREN IN THE NET", which we co-create with Łukasz Pawłowicz and Radio Wataha. The first workshop was on "How to safely navigate the Internet". Another one that is already prepared is "Children and emotions, or how to deal with emotions". The lecture was prepared and conducted by a psychologist.
The school takes an active part in the life of the city.
On 04.12.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX a Christmas market will be held in Moss, which this year will be enriched with Polish flavors. We will be serving Christmas dishes prepared by our school community.
In May, on the occasion of the anniversary of the constitution, we are planning a "Festival of Polish Culture", which was to take place last year. Unfortunately, the pandemic thwarted our plans.
By organizing the festival, we want to mark our presence as a national minority. We want to integrate with other city residents and bring them closer to our traditions and customs.
. Development
It is important that parents have a huge contribution to the development of the school. They are willing to get involved in all sorts of projects. It wouldn't be easy without them. Our school is not only about teachers and students. School is also about parents. Together we all create a small Polish community. This is our little homeland. We celebrate important dates in the history of our country. One such date is November 11. This year we celebrated Independence Day very solemnly. There was an assembly, a flag assembly and, of course, the school sang the Dąbrowski Mazurka.
We also celebrate holidays here. We are planning a school Christmas Eve and Christmas workshops.
The foundation of our facility is, of course, the teachers. People with passion and great love for everything that is Polish. They approach their work with great commitment and patience. Because being a teacher of the Polish community is a mission,
and Saturday schools are not for profit organizations and work there for them.
Finally, I would like to encourage you to enroll your children in Polish diaspora schools. It is an investment in their future. Our doors are wide open!
