He was one of the few to score at Wembley
Before Jerzy Brzęczek became a trainer, he was, among others captain of the Polish national team. As one of the few players of our team, he can boast of a goal scored at the legendary Wembley stadium. He started his football career in 1988 as a player of Olimpia Poznań. In the years 1995 - 2007 he played in the Austrian league, incl. in Tirol Innsbruck and Sturm Graz. He finally ended his football career in 2009 as a player of Polonia Bytom.
He quickly became a coach
After ending his football career, he started working as a coach almost immediately. He started as an assistant in Polonia Bytom. from where he came to Raków Częstochowa, where he spent four years. Then, after unsuccessful adventures with Lechia Gdańsk and GKS Katowice, he got a chance as a coach of Wisła Płock. It turned out to be a bull's eye - after a phenomenal season, the team he led ended the game in 5th place in the Lotto Ekstraklasa table.
Presentation on July 23
The successful season resulted in great interest in Jerzy Brzęczek's services. He was known for a long time, among others with Legia Warszawa (as we wrote about >> HERE <), which Wisła Płock did not want to agree to (read about it >> HERE <). However, the PZPN's proposal could not be rejected by the current employer of Jerzy Brzęczek. Thus - according to the official announcement on the portal "Football connects us”- from July 12, Jerzy Brzęczek is the new coach of the Polish national team. The official presentation is to take place on July 23. The plans of the new trainer will also be presented and the new training staff will be presented. The first game under the leadership of Jerzy Brzęczek will be played against Northern Ireland on September 11.
