A beard is not a fashion
The beard has become a very popular accessory recently. However, there are people who started wearing it before it became fashionable. These "bearded men" gathered around the Broda To Nie Moda community group, initiated by Sebastian Tomczak. The phenomenon is that the friendships made there are transferred to the real world. Usually, virtual friendships remain on the Internet forever. Michał Nielub talked about why this is happening and what was the aim of the initiator of the group.
A beard is not a fashion - is it a friendship?
It cannot be denied that the beard has become a fashionable trend among men. However, in our social group, the beard brought together many people who were previously anonymous to each other. Today they meet with whole families, organize local outings for an evening brewery or even do business together. So to answer your question, Broda is not fashion, it's friendship.
Where did the idea to set up the Broda To Nie Moda social group come from and when was it created?
The group was founded in April 2017. It is therefore relatively young. The idea is very simple. Creating a typically male group when the profile of my business brand on the Facebook platform was taken over by Women. They really love hairy men!

How many members are there today? This number is expanding, or rather theand I?
Currently, we have over 3200 bearded men in the group. In the last 28 days, 258 people have joined and this is an upward trend of 48% compared to the previous month.
Acquaintance among group members remain in the virtual world or have they been transferred to reality? Are there any rallies and if so, are they very popular?
The rally in Poznań was a great success. Even more people showed up at the last rally in Gdańsk. From day one, I wanted to create something more than just another group on the web. Let's face it, there are dozens of them. That is why we focus on getting to know each other, building a community that gets to know each other and has a chance to get to know others. Therefore, we organize rallies all over Poland.
There were 48 of us on the first one in Tychy. At the last, third in Gdańsk, which we organized in August this year. there were over 200 of us on the beach in Brzeźno! I even heard that on that day even 300 people could pass through the rally! We did not count all of them, but as a curiosity I will mention that the youngest participant was ... 2 months old. This shows that we organize our meetings at the highest level of security and are built on friendship as well as an extremely pleasant atmosphere.

What other interesting initiatives have you undertaken?
Wait, I'll count it all (laughs). In fact, in recent years I have managed to combine my passion and dreams with my way of life. The most recent initiative is the opening of an online store with cosmetics for men. For several months I have devoted my free time to him and today I know that it was not lost. And this is just the beginning.
In addition to the group and the store, I manage one of the largest groups about tattoos on FB, I run two blogs, manage 12 social profiles and work with one sports portal. Please don't ask me how I find the time for all this, because I don't know the answer (laughs).

Do you need to take care of your beard in some special way? The popular opinion is that it just grows and you don't have to do anything with it. Is it true?
For the first three / four months it grows well. However, the longer it is, the more time it needs to be cared for. The beard should be washed like any other part of the body, and nurtured with appropriate beard cosmetics. Without a good canister, no beard oil, soap or shampoo and balm to nourish and support facial hair will not work. But trust me, beard care is really fun. It's not an obligation, it's pure pleasure.
When is the next rally?
I was afraid of this question. I am so exhausted after the last organization of the rally that at the moment I am not thinking about the next one. However, I would be lying when I told you that I don't think about him at all. The next official meeting of the Broda To Nie Moda group will probably take place in the spring. We haven't chosen a location yet, but we'll have smaller local meetings by then.
