LOT airlines, which is a Polish company, have had problems for a long time. However, it is noticeable that they deal with them very well. The best example is avoiding a strike once again.
A picket instead of a strike
On May 1 this year, a strike of LOT's employees was to take place, which ultimately did not take place. Instead of a strike, workers organized a picket in front of the company's headquarters. At that time, as many as 90% of airline personnel were in favor of holding the strike. Why, then, it didn't happen? The main reason was questioning the lack of loyalty of the strike by the main management of PLL LOT.

September strike
LOT airlines have announced a second strike. After unsuccessful attempts to implement the strike in May, it was supposed to take place in September. However, it will not happen either. Reason? The carrier went to court again and questioned the loyalty of the event again. Currently, staff cannot engage in such behavior until the loyalty court has heard a strike referendum, and it is not due to take place until November this year.
5 days in advance
The principle of a strike that the unions must follow is that the carrier is informed of the planned date of the strike at least five days in advance. The unions were to inform LOT today about the plans, and the strike was to take place on September 30 or October 1. However, this will not happen.

It is the court that will decide on the strike
Organizing a strike in such a large company as LOT is no joke and it cannot be done just like that. The main basis is the organization of the strike referendum and its results. When workers threatened a May strike in April, as many as 90% of the staff were in favor of the strike. The LOT Management Board, however, came to the conclusion that the results were illegal and the strike was not allowed to take place. Therefore, in November, the question of the loyalty of the strike referendum will be decided by the Supreme Court.
a press conference
A spokesman for LOT Polish Airlines said at today's conference that “the company is not blocking the strike. The dialogue continues, but we protect the company's interests ”. So we will see whether the carrier is in for a strike in 2018 or not.
