PD Guitars is a company that creates guitars by hand. It is created by Piotr Długosz. The guest of Radio Wataha's antenna was also Tomasz Wolski, who composes music, among others. for documentaries.

Tomasz Wolski - in music for 25 years

Tomasz Wolski has been dealing with music for 25 years. At that time, he was composing and performing music for various occasions and special requests. His tasks included, inter alia, creating a specific piece on request, as well as playing it, and - as he himself put it - "conducting as much as he was able to do". He was mainly active abroad, but in Poland he managed to write music for two documentaries. As he says himself, he started his musical career before 1989 and at that time he was mainly playing in restaurants, bars and other catering facilities.

Ragtime on Radio Wataha

Tomasz Wolski performed ragtime on our Radio. "One hundred years ago, Scott Joplin, the creator of the beginnings of popular music, died," says Tomasz Wolski. "Ragtime is the beginning of American music. Such a foundation, among others jazz or even rap. In a word - ragtime started popular music in the United States, ”he adds.

Musicians build Norway

After emigrating to Norway, Tomasz Wolski started working in the construction industry. It is not an isolated case in which excellent artists left Poland for the Viking Country to earn money. The same goes for both Krzysztof "Frytt" Frymarkiewicz or Dominika "Domika" Łuczyńska (check out their new single >>>). Tomasz Wolski, asked by Łukasz Pawłowicz about whether the mentioned performers are going in the right direction, replied: "If everyone tries to do something that they feel and convey something they think, and at the same time tries to do it in such a way as to help someone else, it is going in the right direction. Because every creator helps someone not financially, but in a spiritual way. And this is beautiful".

Handmade guitars

On the antenna of Radio Wataha, as part of the same broadcast, we also hosted Piotr Długosz, who deals with the creation and regeneration of guitar instruments in Norway. Each guitar is constructed for a specific person, and thus PD Guitars does not engage in mass production. He himself professes the principle that “the musician should change the instrument if it begins to limit it. You don't buy an instrument for the look and color, but for the sound.

Many components of a guitar

On Radio Wataha, Piotr Długosz revealed how the preparation of each instrument looks like. It turns out that in any case, many factors determine the final character of each guitar. Initial consultation includes the way of the grip, the type of music played, what sound it needs, etc. Only later are decisions made, such as the shape and appearance of the instrument or the type of wood it will be made of.
